If you want to travel from Germany non stop we recommend Eurowings. If you are looking for a high level of comfort, we recommend Delta.
Relax. Three hours before departure should be fairly enough. If you have an intermediate landing, the suggested time buffer is 2.5 hours. To get through the immigration process it will take you one hour. If you did not use a non stop flight and already had a stop in the US your legal formality should already be done. In this case you can leave your final destination very soon.
There a two options. One is non stop from Dusseldorf early in the morning. The other is with an intermediate landing and will start later at the morning. If you are traveling in the winter season, try to avoid airports like Chicago or Philadelphia. There you can get in delayed caused by the weather. To be safe choose airports like Atlanta.
Definitely in Germany, because it is much cheaper. But if you are already in the US you should book it online on a German page. When you are ready to pick up your car, be careful. Don’t book any additional packages. You don’t need them.
